Welcome to the family... I just lost a fellow family member. He traded in his 05' Wide Glide for an 09' Road Glide... He will be missed.

A bit of bad news, may not affect you. Many 05's started an oil consumption issue. Seems the MOCO had installed some inferior valve guide seals that allowed copious amounts of oil to be consumed in the combustion chamber. Monitor your oil level, also check with the previous owner to see if they had the valve guide seals replaced under warranty. If they are bad now to replace them is on your dime. Cam chain tensioners is a "wear" part and they just wear down, just catch them in time. I own a 05 FXDLI and I really love this little hot rod.

Well I finally got off her long enough to take a picture on the driveway. And yeah, took the shield off and LOVE IT! Too bad its starting to cool down quite a bit here and I don't know how much more shield-less riding I'll get to do.

I love mine. Only problem I've had was a seal leak where the shifter goes into the tranny, and the valve stem seal (was that the issue?) that all Dyna's back then had.

I have an '05 too. No problems yet with 32k. But I'm going to check the cam chain tensioners next oil change. Buy one!
