What kind of seat did you change it up to? What kind of benefits did you get from the change?
I got a Mustang, based on the opinions of others I talked to here. It's very comfortable, but the passenger seat looks pretty huge. The only thing I had to get used to was the fact it is really wide. Others here have said good things about the Sundowner also. I rode to Milwaukee with the Mustang and it felt great.
For 2 up seats the Mustang Wide Touring Vintage is the way to fly, I think if I had to do it over, I would get it in 2 pieces so I could easily fly solo.
That's what I did - the 2 piecer... I didn't like the thought of a 12" passanger seat sitting on a 7" fender. Love the wide vintage solo for my fat *** though...
Nice bike. don't let the chill keep you off it, just have to dress for it.
Well I'm back from the Rockies and had an awesome time. I dressed for the weather and was perfectly fine even though it got down to 1 degree C! hahaha
****ty news though, some **** tried to steal my bike or something, and absolutely trashed the shifting lever. When I took it in to the shop they said that some drunk bonehead probably thought it was a kick start, and stomped on it as hard as he could... The lever got completely stripped, so I had to limp the bike home... bastards...
I bought my '05 with 9850 miles on it last week. Handles nicer than I expected. I had rented a '13 about 2 weeks ago to see how I'd like the rake/ 21" wheel. Enjoyed it more that the Street Glide that I took home overnight. So far I've put about 100 miles in the San Diego mountains (rain killed the weekend) and have had a blast. Handles and U-turns better than expected. I've dragged the pegs and boot heel a couple of times on sharp curves and freeway entrance loops.
The TC88 still has plenty of power on tap too! Mine's carbureted so it's cool to have that low idle potato.
Do it, I'm really happy with my purchase.
Best pic I've got with me on the bike so far, in the garage...
