I've been contemplating this subject for a while now.
I live in n helmet free state. Currently have my permit so i'm possed to wear a helmet, not ride at night, no passengers, and stay off the interstate. Break all those rules, all the time. But the passenger one, street bob = no passenger seat.
I have not gone on runs longer than 300 miles and i bet if i did a full face would be nice. I have had a bird glance off the side of my face, and i wish i had a ff helmet on at that time!!! I have a buddy who has one of those modular/flip up full face helmet, he dropped his once from about 2-3 feet and the face masked flipped up, that right there sold me on a full, not modular
did you try on your hjc before you ordered or order by measurment???
I wear a 1/2 helmet now most of the time but used to wear nothing but full face. I do have a HD System full face helmet that I have started to wear more now that I have a bike without a windshield. Love the modular helmet but make it a practice not to be dropping it. Modular or not if you drop a helmet You should probably replace it. One side affect of a full face helmet that happened to me Sunday is that when I get hot with a full helmet on it makes me get sleepy. Not good on two wheels.

Not good on any wheels, sleepy and distracted cagers are the most terrifying thing ever.
I don't ever wear a helmet (I know, I know.. not good) but I just can't find anything thats comfortable enough to wear without spending a fortune! I have an HJC helmet that I do wear when it rains or when its cold, but I just LOVE the wind in my face and can't stand wearing half helmets.. I guess I just have to take it like a man and just spend the money on a very light weight full face.. now just have to find a good one!
My Shoei Multitech is great for cold/wet riding and gives you ease of entry if you wear glasses like me. Very aerodynamic and cuts down on fatigue. Otherwise my 3/4 HJC AC-3 carbon fiber gets the most mileage in the warm months. High recommendations for both! You get what you pay for!
Hjc here, wear it when riding 50 miles to work - was tired of getting sandblasted in the face when riding city highway with road debree kicked up by traffic.
I commute into the 20's F but I still wear a full face even on hot days when commuting. It just doesn't beat you up as bad at freeway speeds. l have a Scorpian EXO 700 and just love it. It has the best fog free shield I'v ever used. It cost under $200 2 years ago and they through in a foam race case. I do wear my 1/2 helmet around town and did wear it to milwaukee this year, but I missed my full face.
