Yes!!!! that is ugly.
What was he thinking?
He should just go and buy a road king instead of ugling up the Dyna.
He may have done this for the same reason I am going to. I like the road King front end but want to run with out bags and have it still look good. And maybe like me, he doesn't want a Softtail.
I think there are a couple of things that make it look unusual:
(i) the headlight (replacement light not fitting the nacelle) and it's shape not being seen very often on a Dyna; and
(ii) the forks are a little over standard length (I think 8" upper sliders vice 6" being standard FL Softail/Road King), would make the front end +2" over.
I think also the angles from which the photos were taken were not particularly flattering. There are some angles from which photos can be taken that just capture the overall look better than others, I think.
I am a little surprised at some of the strong negative reactions.
I am reminded of a quote from one of our venerable brothers:
saw this bob at Zylstra HD the other night when my brother and i went to get a new battery for his bike... had to snap some pics! sorry i could not find the ownder... looks like a RK front end with a nauticle kit
Circus freak!
Isn't that light from a victory or one of the wanna-be rice burners?
ha ha ha ahh man... all the tuff guy keyboards that must be sold in a year... personally i like it! it looks nothing like what is on the road. i would have done a diff headlight but then again it is not my bike... alot of work went into doing that... i bet it tracks awesome on the highway and is just smooooooth... funny alot of stock or close to stock bikes on here making fun of one that has alot of custom work done to it... personally i dig it... would have left the stock front off of a heritage for example... but he obviously did not just pull off a stock front, he got one and modded it to work... props to him... wish he would have been there to talk to!
I think it looks good. Would look much better with a different headlight. Thumbsup for trying something different. Ideas often evolve into something else....might be an ongoing project.
Love the forks and the fat front wheel, but toss the nacelle and the Mini Apes and replace them with the headlight and handle bars from a Fat Boy.
Then you'd have a sweet lookin' ride.
Saw a sporty at Street Vibration with a full touring set-up and a FL front end. Whoever put the Indian front end on the original post here put some thought and work into it. Credit for trying something different. Good chance it isn't complete yet. Most important part - it was out on the road - not sitting in the garage.
