cheese on ice folks... this dude made something he obviously likes, crafted it to fit his bike to suit his own taste.... and doesn't look like everybody else's ride. If you don't like his style, or if it isn't for you, don't pass up the opportunity to shut the f*** up.
Man, I thought this forum had a few more brothers-on-wheels on it than this... sure makes me think twice or thrice about posting any fabbing or bolt-ons I add to my ride on here.
For the two or three folks that appreciated that guy's efforts, bravo.
...the rest of you have stinky orifices.
The great thing about the Harley life is individuality. I must disagree with almost everyone here. This guy saw a vision and did it. No page 27 on the CC Catalog. If everyone was the same in this life than I would not do it. Since when do every Harley riders have to fit in a mold? Personally I would not put it on my bike but I congratulate this guy for doing it. Everything Harley or handmade is good by me.
Yup... it's his bike, it's unique and he should do whatever the hell he wants.
How does any of that indicate other individuals cannot or should not have the opinion it's ugly and looks like ***?
There is a difference between "I would not do it myself" and "Dude that is phuckin ugly". Sorry to be such a stinker. I guess I spent a good share of my life being told what to be and how to be it, that I never got to be me. I finally said the hell with that when my wife left me and I bought the Harley that I was never supposed to have. I am the one paying for my ride, and I am the only one who rides it, so if you don't like it, I could care less. I might be a bit put off though if you felt it necessary to tell me how "phuckin ugly it was". It wouldn't change my like for my bike, but it might change my opinion of you. Just sayin!
You kind of missed the point of the thread then, didn't you? The thread was intended to elicit comments (as would pretty much be the case with all forum threads). It would seem you haven't noticed there are a good number of threads in which different style choices or custom options are discussed - apes are cool/apes are stupid, fishtails are cool/fishtails look stupid, etc.
There is always either a blatant or implied message - I think it looks stupid as hell, but, it's your bike, and if that's what you like, cool with me - my opinion shouldn't matter to you.
For all you know, the owner of that bike bought it like that, and he thinks it's ugly as hell, and was at the dealer to buy a stock headlight to replace the ugly monstrosity taking over his front end.
I think that person did what he or she wanted to do Just like putting a custom paint job on there bike spending 2,000 dollars in my opinion is wasting money Just buy it ride it and maintain it .He// with all that extra chrome that you purchased you will never get that back when you sell it. People should just put positive comments each is there own i guess
Yeah... and we should all get together for a weekly group hug, and spread sunshine all over the world.
Anything different is to be applauded, unless it is an opinon? Pffft.
Perhaps those of you who want to tiptoe through the tulips should have your own forum section. We can call it something like the "Hippies Love-In Magic Bus" section. You can all hang there, spread sunshine and lollipops, and pat each other on the ***.
For me... I'd rather have a bunch of people sharing honest opinions - even if they're negative opinions.
I wonder why not one member even asked or inquired if the front end is modified to work better. The subject never came up except a few times about the fat tire. All about looks and nobody asked about function. Look at how many hits this subject gets but when someone puts up why something works or something new that improves a ride, no one is interested. Comments about chrome or what a headlight looks like? I just do not know.
I saw a few comments about how it might handle. You must have missed them.
But then, do you think the person who did this to this bike was thinking having a giant headlight might improve his handling? If that were the case, I wonder if he considered welding a chromed free weight to the forks.
