Default powdercoating help!!? wheels

would it be cheaper to just buy a new wheel thats already powdercoated, or should i go through the troube of taking mine all apart to powdercoat and then reassemble?? thanks for the help if you have advice!

Depending on the new wheels you chose, powder coating is usually less expensive. If you find the right guy, you can get him to do all the dis & reassembly. I dropped my bike off and picked it up 4 days later, ready to ride.

I unlaced and re-laced the wheels myself. Note I only coated the rims for $60 and it was about $100/wheel to get them trued, mounted and balanced. So it was about $260 and tree weeks on the jack.

i saw some 60 spoke wheels on the net that were powder coated as well as the spokes with copper nipples for like 600......wasnt sure if that was worth it or not?

I guess a couple things to consider is if you buy new there wont be any real down time plus the resale value of your current wheels.

exactly like loner said... hell i have taken in wheels torn them down, powdered them, and laced and trued them back up... if you find the right powdercoater you can do the same... but check some of the dirtbike places as well they are you best bet on cheap lacing and trueing... much cheaper to do it yourself... it is really REALLY easy! just takes some time and patience!
