I want to lower the Fat Bob an inch or so, so that the fender is even with the edge of the wheel or just a little more. I know there are better performance options than Progressive, but I don't want to throw down the cash for a $1K set of shocks right now.
I really can't complain about the stock shocks too much. If the Progressive's are a little better and lower, I'll be happy enough for now. I don't really expect the bike to handle like the sport bike I had before anyway.
So, I'm looking at either getting the balony cut 812's or black 412's. I probably won't get the HD option because the stock shocks are stiff enough, even 2-up.
If anyone has lowered theirs, I'd like to see some pics and hear your thoughts on how you like your set up.
i lowered my fxdx, rear's from stock 13.5" to 12.5" black 412 progressive. I did it because the one of the stock shocks had leakage, and the shop didnt have the 412 13" in stock, so i had to go with 12.5". I'm not really sure coz it feels like 12" coz i have issues with speedbumps now.
but other than that, progressive will do just fine, no probs riding with the mrs. I set it one click from the hardest.
this tech i go to, recommended progressive. i asked others and got the same answer.
i always like the fatbobs,..they're big and mean.

Not sure how 412's would perform on the Fat Bob but judging from the set I put on my Sportster I'd say don't waste your money.
They were better than the stock Sportster shocks but not by much.
I know there are some chassis and weight dynamics at work that give the Dyna a better ride than a Sportster but the stock shocks on the Dyna seems to have a much better ride quality.
If the goal is lowering and keeping or hopefully improving ride quality, I would save my for something better than the 412's.
