Default Torque wrench question

Hello all,

I've got a question about converting foot lbs. to in. lbs.

When I use my Beam type Torque wrench the settings are for foot lbs. But I'm checking my service manual for torque values to put my primary cover on and it's giving Inch lbs. which obviously is less tight than tightening down brake, axle bolts etc. Is there a rule of thumb to estimate an Inch lb. to a ft. lb.?

I've tried a fancy dial type one before but a low settings, I could never feel the "give" or any click which is why I only have the Beam style.

You should invest in an inch pound torque wrench. {a good quality one}

Divide ft. lb by 12 to get in. lb.

the previous post has it backwards:
To convert foot pounds to inch pounds, multiply by 12.
To convert inch pounds to foot pounds, divide by 12
