honestly if you do not adjust your settings on the rear of the swing arm you will not have to adjust anything, just pull out hte axel and remove then do the same to put it all back together... i then check the tension but it is always been spot on

I am not Joe, but, yes you will not need to readjust the wheel... If for some reason you take a wrench to the adjusters, well, you will need to readjust... so don't touch 'em..
unbolt axle and slide it out... gonna need to unbolt lower shock mounts too...

so unbolt shock mounts...lift bike ...remove axle... lift bike until the wheel can roll out the back... easy...

oh yeah take belt off pully before trying to roll wheel out back, but you knew that already

I've seen posts or maybe it was in my manual, that you had to remove the exhaust to get the axle bolt out. Then it was recommended that you turn the bolt around on reassemby.
First, I used a floor jack under the wheel in addition to the bike jack. I lifted or lowered (can't remember which) until the bolt would come out around exhaust.
Second, on my 99 FXD, there was a clearance issue and I couldn't turn the bolt around. But no big deal anyway.
Lastly don't change the adjustment and you are good to go.

If you drop the swing arm by loosenig the lower shock mount you will not have a problem. Now after you change the tire the tire might have to be re aligned called tracking
