Default More Power

My dad is looking for a little more pop from his stock 2005 Dyna with the 88. It's got a k &n filter and a vance and hines 2-1 exhaust. Other than that it's stock. I have an evo engine that I put a new cam, ignition, and had the head redone. He's thinking intially along these line minus the head work. Is a cam and ignition a good way to add a little hp? What is everyone using? Thanks

tell him to get the 95" kit and do that it will probably be the most bang for his buck. around $500 from zanotti in PA go to the web site. vs. a cam at like $200+ and there are 95" kits that have well over 100 hp and 100 ft lbs. tq. thats what I would do.

If I had to choose between the big bore or cams, I would choose cams.

Something even easier that he may not have thought about is a power pulley.

I know they have them for the 2006..not sure about the '05s but I would check it out.

You will not need an ignition unless the compresion is set to over 10.1.

the Daytona twin tech is my favorite. mine has a Head-Quarters advance curve on it and its wonderful.

cams an give it a good kick in the pants, but some of them dont work so well with added compresion.

I pieced together a BB kit with cams and heads in 2005, but it had issues, I sold all the SE and S&S crap and got a HQ 95 kit with igntion and 7k miles later it rocks like nothing ive ever ridden.

If hes got 3k laying arould buy a worked OE kit from a reputal vendor, if not just pop in a GD cam set like HQ 34s, Woods 6 or Andrews 37s, I will run pretty good.

Lots of good options for cams. I believe a good place to look is woods performance, but yes a simple set of cams will wake it up pretty good!
