I was wondering if anybody out there could steer me in the right direction in getting a hydraglide front end on my superglide. heres the problems, i want to keep stock dual discs, and i want to put those 3 degree offset fork cups in the neck. stock fl lower legs only have one caliper mount and when i stretch it out,and going from 19" rim to 16" ill want longer slider tubes. So im prepared to do the change in pieces. Is there any flst front end that will work, or maybe somebody knows if fl slider covers will fit on fxwg forks, or just have a better idea period.
I ran a setup like this on my 82 SG, It can be done.
Im not sure whos parts I had because I bought the bike in a box.
but It had Custom chrome or V-twin lower forks and I ran the OE front dual discs.
the Triple tree must have been of a soft-tail or somthing because nothing matched up in the neck and I had to get the cups cut down and change a couple of other things, but the bike look like a fatboy when I was done!
hopfully some else can give you alittle more acuate info, becuase I build this bike over 10 years ago and the details are foggy!
I have a 1981 FXE. Did you check the J&P Cycles catalog for front ends? I know they have the wide glide forks for the shovels, but I am not sure about a FL front end.
yeah, pretty much every aftermarket co. has the parts to build a front end that will fit my bike, but id have to sacrifice and get a whole new brake system i guess if i have to
