disconnect the cables at the speedo housing
you will probably need to pull wiring out of frame to disconnect the switches and signals (if they are still on the bar)....
one thing is if you need to remove the lower bearing and stem before they media blast...
probably gonna need to pay someone for that...
you could probably use epoxy and make all the parts come out good and durable...
save a lot of money due to the need to disassemble the lowers...
Thanks guys. I really wish there was a "front end how-to pictorial" that we could sticky. I have a hard time grasping what the manual is saying until I actually get my hands on the bike. I learn much better by "doing", but mistakes can be costly when the bike is your main transportation.
As far as turn signal wiring goes, I don't have any on my bike, LOL. I do think I may have ran the internal wiring through the bars and through the hole in the top tree... I will have to check when I get home. I really hate digging the wires out of the frame because of the way they are just jammed and tangled in there.
i'm sending my trees and slider dust covers out to 'powdercoater' tomorrow or Tuesday.. I had a local guy do a few other parts and he made a royal mess of the things .... i actually returned them and had hims strip everything off.
