Yes this is *.
How many rights have we lost already
*
Just made a quick check of the BOR to make sure. Nope. No right to do wheelies. No right to go 50 mph over the limit. No right to a side mounted license plate.
What rights do you think were lost with these new laws?

Those laws ARE NOT aimed at Harley riders, they're going after the squids on crotch rockets. There is a real problem with sportbikers running from cops and tucking their plates way up and in so they can't be read.
No, nightster owners aren't gonna be screwed with. R-1 onwers yeah, and rightfully so.
The article is wrong. Google "Florida statutes" and read them.
The statute actually says no lower than 12" from the ground, no higher than 60" and not more than 24" from the centerline of the vehicle and it must be horizontal and not have the ability to be folded or flipped from view.
that sucks, I would leave your plate alone if you are 100% legal in everything else, roll the dice and see what happens. If you tend to have reasons not to want to interact with the Man then change it quick. In PA. 2 beers can make you under the influence and would not want to give an officer a reason to stop me.
I wouldn't say they exactly encourage speeding but out West you can drive 100+ for hours without bothering anybody. Course that's out in the desert, not on the Gandy bridge in the middle of a metropolitan area of 2 million. Florida is getting a little too crowded to tolerate certain forms of assholery. The other day my mother in law was involved in a pile up caused by a schmuck on a crotch rocket playing tag with the police.
I'll bet half the cops we are bad-mouthing ride harleys.
I was told by the DMV when I called that the plate must be mounted horizontally and must be able to be seen from a car that is travelling behind the bike...
