Default ordered apes need help with cable length

i just ordered a set of 17 inch ape hangers for my 07 street bob, im having trouble withe cable length, i cant seem to get the right information, and relay that to an online dealer, i know i need like +10 throttle idle, but they want the total length of the cables, i know some places can go off of the +10 but at jirehcycles.com they just want the full length, and the throttle and idle cables are 11 dollars a peice, so its hard to turn down that deal, so any help anyone could be would be appreciated. and if anyone wants to know about the bars i ordered, they are 17 inch narrow body, so i think they will go good with the dyna, but they were like 69, good price, nice looking bars, PM me if anyone wants the info

Go to the Harley parts site and select enter throttle cable into the search box. It will bring up a list of items. Select the Diamondback Multi-Length for Dyna/FXR: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
After the item description there is a link called "How to Select the Correct Cable Kit" Click on it and it takes you to a table: http://www.harley-davidson.com/pna/p...bmLocale=en_US
Look up a Dyna Street Bob 2006-2008 and you will find stock length is 32.5" with a 90 degree bend for both throttle and idle.
Back to the search box; now enter Clutch cable. It will load a list of items. Select the Stainless Steel Braided Clutch Cable for Dyna/FXR: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Look for the same "How to Select the Correct Cable Kit" after the item description. Click on it: http://www.harley-davidson.com/pna/p...bmLocale=en_US
Look up your bike and you will find 2006-2008 FXDB has a clutch cable with a total length of 68.69" (37.19" top half, 31.50" bottom half)
For the brake line, I was not able to get a stock length off of the website, but measured mine and added extra length based on the difference in bar height. I can tell you that stock Street Bob bars have 10.25" of rise. This is off of a similar HD web page, but I cannot find it now. A lot of people call the 12" mini apes, but they are not 12". I went from stock to 12.5" Wild Ones, and they are 2.25" taller. Good luck!

man you are a life saver, is that dual throttle cable and dual idle cable, or single throttle cable and single idle cable on a street bob?

Single Throttle Cable, and a Single Idle Cable. It's two separate control cables, Throttle Cable is one, Idle Cable is the other. They are very similar but one has a smaller fitting where it mates into the switch housing. They are not interchangeable. Measure your brake line and add about 6" and you will be good. I think Jireh sells a 55" Russell for around $30 that would probably work.
