I know there's a couple on here that have done it, I just can't remember there names. I've always LOVED the looks of these pipes, and if they were black out, and wrapped with black, I think it would give my bike an old school look. Watcha guys think? Anyone think I'll run into any problems mounting these pipes? I know I'd probaly have to make some sort of different mounting bracket, but I don't think it'd be to difficult.
Well, I figured since I have O2 eliminators with my PCIII, I won't need 02 bungs.. so, watcha think? And those TH'ers look good! A bit different then the Dyna's TH'ers.. was it hard to fab a mounting bracket?
I think those pipes will look real good on your ride. Definitely wrapped.
Thanks on the compliment. I really wanted the softtail look pipe. As far the bracket... Some 1/4 inch steel plate, 3/4 rod, a torch, a drill, a good set of cut-off wheels and a welder.
that huge upsweep will probably run into fitment issues with your shocks and swingarm...
your thunderheader is perfect!!
if you need change spend some $ on a new aircleaner...
I think that the TH looks great, and I know that they add some of the most performance that you can get, bar none. I'm sure that you would lose HP with the Big Growl pipes, and I think that you have about the best that there is, and wouldn't change a thing.
I've put several Softail pipes on my WG including some of the Big Growl pipes. I now have the Cycle Shack short 2:1 for the Softail on her.
You just have to be a little creative with the mounting bracket. I know that Tree88 used those same pipes on his WG. He made a bracket out of 1/4" steel that mounted to the transmission. He bent it at angles so that the bracket would be offset to the pipes and didn't have to do any welding.
Hmmm... I didn't think about the shock clearance. Here's a pic that someone photoshopped for me of the pipes on my bike. The shock clearance might be an issue.... grrr
