Default need some noob help

hey guys and gals! new to the riding world and looking for a windshield for my bike without spending a fortune. Want one to put on for longer highway trips, but be able to take off for around town riding...any suggestions?

THe riders essentials kit is not bad if your looking for a sissy bar too, also check into getting a front tool bag to help with buffeting on the highway

I have the quick-detachable HD version for my fxdf. National Cycle makes a good product called the switchblade. Comes in several sizes. I had one on my VTX and liked it.

I like the Windvest. Looks good and does a good job. Detaches with two allen bolts, but once you start using it you'll never take it off.

Good Luck

Tom

Harley quick-detatchable windshield works just fine. Comes in standard and compact. See www.harleydavidson.com

I like the Memphis Shades sport shields. I have the Rio Grande one and love it. In my opinion it looks much better than the HD ones and costs less. The only thing the HD quick detach has over it is that it doesn't leave any hardware on the bike. The Memphis Shades quick detach leaves 4 clamps on the forks as you can see in the 2nd pic below.

I was seriously looking at Memphis Shades, but I opted for the HD quick release instead. That decision paid off when I put the passing lights on. The hardware the Shades left on would have conflicted with the lights.

Like almost everyone else, once you put a windshield on, you wont want to take it off. The only time mine comes off is to polish the chrome
