Default FXDF Forks Loose?

Hi All,

I posted this over in the tech forum - but didn't get a response - looks like more people are in this forum anyways!!!

Basically, I have an 09 FXDF "Fat Bob." It's got about 250 miles on it so far, but it seems to me that the forks might be "loose."

When I go over bumps, I can feel some play in the front forks, and when I'm stopped and I lock the front brake and "bounce" them - I can feel play. It's very subtle, but I can feel it. I did take it to the dealer, and they said this was normal.

Am I going crazy, or is this normal? Is it just "stiction" with the fork seals?

Thanks in advance!!!

Have your dealer adjust the head bearing, mine did the same thing..I rode it untill the 1K service before it was fixed..

Cool - thanks for the info - I think there's a TSB about it too:

Exactly the same here! Spoke to the dealer last week and he says its probably the head bearings have settled in and need to be tightened and the fall away readjusted. Just getting ready to take it in to them to do the 1K service and he says thats part of what they do then.
