part question
Iam going to do my forward controls on my dyna soon since winter is starting now my question is from the harley controls and parts pic i see on there website the plug they give you for the shifter hole in the outer primary sticks out what are you guys using that looks like the flush chrome button plug and what is the part number? and what are you using on the inner primary. Plan to do this job myself once the snow flys.
Just had forward controls put on my 2009 Dyna. the kit i bought from Harley came with the chrome plug. BE CAREFUL Though i would install it my self but had to trailer to to the Harley dealership paid the four hours and let them do it. started on the left side took the shifter off drained the oil took the cover off then realized the clutch has to come off and this big chain that was enough for me looked easy. just to change a little shifter linkage .Im good with the tools but not that good.
I have to think that i could remove the outer primary and remove the shift linkage that comes thru it with out removing the inner primary. I know i can get the shift linkage on the transmission spline off and on with out removing anything. My thought is remove the outer primary and pull out the shif linkage plug holes put on new outer primary seal and iam in buisness am i wrong hear?
