thanks for the advice.. JRK did the same search as you and came up with a few different options.. Primo would be first choice, I also like the Performance Machine products. Now lets see if I can get this done so when we take a ride next spring we can turn a few heads...
I am in brother i am in! you still rocking the kiwi front end? i was going to do the Girter but instead i am just going to leave the stock front end on it... i actuall like it... glad someone else is going to do this so i can bitch about any problems i run into setting this up!
http://www.techcycle.com/07drive.html open primary for 06 and up dynas ... its EXSPENSIVE though
primo makes an enclosed belt drive for 06 and up dynas as well.runs about a grand.. i will be going that route
My 96 Dyna keeps eating up ring gears and starter gears....I'm on my third set of ring gears now. Up until this time I was having a small shop do the work but I'm over it. I have the 1.7 KW aftermarket starter on this bike and I getting conviced that it's either too strong for the stock primary set up or not squaring up with the ring gear. If it's going to eat more parts I'd rather at least have the fun of screwing it up myself....any help?
cons- ridiculously expensive, somewhat dangerous, forget it if your dyna is a 2006+ (none made- no primo, bdl, barnett, etc), won't fit with mid controls
Just do it and figure out the "work around" ... you're going to run into problems getting things to work with your brand/model/year ... if you want it bad enough, you'll figure out a way to make it work ....
