Pants...smants.... an open belt primary would look AWESOME on your bike Revolution. The pants thing is something you'll have to be coherent of when riding and adjust accordingly.

ahh, now that i've finished up my work for today, i have a bit of time to reply to this comment more clearly.

i've spent more than a fair amount of time researching and talking with professionals re: an op solution for my 08 dyna.

in fact, i was fortunate enough to have a good amount of face time with russell mitchell, owner, etc. of www.exilecycles.com, perhaps some have seen any one of his television shows such as biker build-off.

russell was nice enough to walk me through the fabrication needed to make a primo open primary work on my dyna. i can tell you it is doable but not a "just do it" project. i've also had in-depth conversations with the folks at tech cycle going over their $5000 op for a mid-control dyna.

that being said, i do not believe it is good idea to "work around" anything that involves a 2" wide kevlar belt stretched between 2 metal gears spinning at up to 6400 rpm, less than a 1/4" from my foot while going 80 mph in traffic.

this is serious project i'm considering and am only interested in doing it correctly.

How about riding in the rain and catching road dirty spray from other traffic, or riding gravel and dirt roads?

If I can borrow a word from Jrk....guys have been rockin the open primary for a few decades now. Sometimes it just doesn't matter. They do what they want to their bikes and then go riding.

Bikes with primary belts are known for getting real squirrelly. As seen in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx0Qs...eature=related, near the end of the video.

I like all that "functionin' stuff" safely tucked away behind pretty chrome cases, not transferring heavy-horses just inches away from treasured body parts. My $0.02.

Out'a sight, out'a mind, out'a danger. Got enough external threats to my safety on 2-wheels, without packing an extra along with me. The "cool" factor doesn't outweigh the potential troubles. Just my opinion, but, I am recognised as the world's leading authority on my opinion! ;>)

I been looking....only tech offers it as bolt on....everything else seems to be soft tail oriented...my guess is its a chassis(sp?) thing?...also saw something with a open primary in a dyna and the swingarm pivot bolt and nut needed to be shaved for clearance..

the pant thing aint nothing a rubber band around it cant fix...just take the rubber band off before you mosey into the local watering hole!..
