Default solid mounted handlebars?

i am wanting to raise the height of my riser by about 1 inch... what i am thinking of doing is milling out a piece of aluminum to go under the riser i have now and adding longer bolts.it will be under the riser where red arrow is in the attached photo.. it will be milled the same shape as the bottem of the existing riser but about a quarter inch bigger all the way around with corrosponding bolt holes... after i do this it will basiclly be solid mounted to the triple trees.. are there many negatives about having solid mounted bars>? i put my hand down on the top triple tree when im riding and it dosent seem to be vibrating any worse than my bars.. or am i going to get way to much bar vibration?
still trying to come up with a way to raise the riser and retain the rubber mounts..
any thoughts or suggestions welcome..
thanx!!

Nice Lookin' SuperGlide!! I suspect a solid mount might add to the amount of vibs you'd feel in the bars, but it might not be that bad at all. You could just mill a couple of riser extensions the same size as the risers and get the bar position you want .... might not be the look you are after though.

Also, I like the Speedo relocate you've done ..... looks nice, but keeps the functionality of the stock set-up. I always wondered whether that would work with a tank lift. Now I know!!

Something like this could work, even better if you can make them yourself and save 60 bucks. Been thinking about these riser extensions if I don't like the height of my drag bars.

Couple things.

The bushings are in the trees, so if you just put the spacer on top of the bushing, it won't be a solid mount and will act just like it does now but the riser is just longer.

Also, you don't have to go through the trouble of milling it unless you want to. You can probably get Aluminum stock in the right diameter and it is cheap.

I've made several sets this way and just polish them to a chrome-like shine. I run a bolt through them and chuck them in the drill press so I can sand and polish them.

I've probably got less than $10 into ALL the risers listed below.

Here are some straight 3" risers I made for my Suzuki Volusia:

Even made some slanted ones by cutting at an angle and bending the bolts...the bolts went down through the trees with a nut on the bottom instead of UP like the Harley:

ANOTHER set that I made for a set of 3" Harley Pullbacks on my Suzuki:

And LAST...2" extensions under my Duece risers:
