Default confused about spokes........help

Trying to do the 16" conversion so I can run whitewalls. My question is.....are all spokes for 16" rims the same or are they different for different hubs and rims. Found a good deal on ebay, but all they list is that they are for a 16" rim. any help would be appreciated. Anyone that's already done the swap would love to get your input.

Take the time to talk to someone who builds wheels professionally. May save you a lot of aggravation paying for wrong parts or trying to build a wheel with parts which won't work.

The spokes you use will depend on the type of hub you use, the type of rim you use, and the size of the rim you use.

Here are some diagrams showing the differences in the components. You can also look at the differences in your front and rear hub on your bike. They are different types.

Here is a diagram of a hub similar to what you have on the front. If you look at your spokes, you will notice the are all laced from the outside of the flange to the inside. The heads of the spokes are two different lengths so the can overlap each other in the lacing pattern.

This hub is typical of your rear wheel. It is also similar to the type used on the WG and Softail. It is laced with spokes alternating from outside-in to inside-out. All of the spokes used on this hub have the same length heads.

This is a comparison of the different style rims.
