Just got my parts back from powder coat, while I putting it back together ,
I put a set of P M grips on. took It out for a quick test ride and the throttle is sticking.
anyboby had the same problem ?. check cable route o.k. , its sticking at the grip/switch.
twist while on stand and its fine, seems to be while riding. HELP !!!
Make sure you don't have the switch housing/throttle assembly pushed in too far towards the left. It could be binding and needs to be scooted to the right just a bit. Also, the routing may be fine if the bars are pointed straight ahead and binding when you turn. Raise it again and check to make sure it's working freely with the bars turned in both directions. Check to make sure you have the adjustments set correctly...both the throttle and idle. If you've got them out of adjustment and not set correctly, it may not be closing the butterfly completely.
Hope this helps.
exactly what last saint said. Most have a tendency to pust the throttle grip flush with the bars... End of grip is supposed to be away from the bars about 1/8"or so.
thanks for the help, it's not fouling on the end of handle bar, just checked.
cables ok lock to lock. will get service book out tomorrow and re-check cable setting/tension.
it's not the powder coating or the screw below .
it's feels like something is snagging inside. it only does it when the grip is twisted while gently pulling off the grip. when twisted while pushing towards the housing it does not snag. out on the road it's intermitant, depending where the grip is in relation to the housing .
