Well if anyone was wondering what a Fat Boy headlight would look like on a Fat Bob, well here it is. I searched myself silly trying to find a pic of one that has been done, and I did find pics, just not on a Fat Bob.
I wanted to make it so that it would be easily interchangeable with the stock headlight but the stock headlight uses H13 bulbs which obviously have different connectors so I just bought a standard 3-prong pigtail and put bullet connectors on it. Also, I wanted to use gold plated connectors and solder them on and I know these are easily available for R/C use and I use them all the time for electric motors and the like, however I did not prepare myself for this and I ended up using solderless crimp connectors. It will do for now and I will order the ones I want later.
So, here is what she looks like now......I have a 2" tank lift on it and the obvious breather/pipes.....still more to do to get the look I want (new rear fender especially) but what do you think??
To answer a couple of questions, the headlight came off a 2008 Fat Boy and I got it off Ebay. There are others on there but some of the older ones appear to have a bit different trim ring but not objectionable. I almost got one of those instead.
And as much as I like to help out a fellow rider, I am sorry that I don't really want to sell the stock light. Thanks to all who have asked but I am really **** about keeping my stock stuff around.
