What would cause this to happen on my 04 Low Rider?

You can adjust both the front forks (put in heavier oil) and the rear shocks ( $10 toll to adjust the preload). What specific problems are you having?

too worn shocks...or most likely too little preload. Front problems? change oil to the SE fork oil.

Just tighten the preload or change to longer shocks or air shocks.
I sometimes have that problem when riding 2 up. I am Not a small guy.
I am thinking about going to the bagger air shocks myself.

Sorry guys I shoulda been more specific, it is the rear that is giveing me the trouble. I am 170 lbs. so that shouldn't be a factor. I had one of the guys at the service shop take a look and he said he was able to adjust the rear shocks i click only, he also suspected that the former owner put a lowring kit on it I don't know.

Measure your ground clearence. Should be over 5 inches. I bottom out if I ride into the driveway too fast when the wife is on the back and I have stock clearence with the shocks as stiff as can be adjusted.
