Default Just got back from the tune Doc1 performed

And let me tell ya, the bike has NEVER run any better!! It is just simply amazing! So smooth, very responsive, doesn't backfire or sputter anymore. Its niiiiiiiiiiiice!

Here are my numbers:

4th gear run:
Max HP: Was at 65.49, now at 70.26
Max Torque: Was at 67.34, now at 71.68

5th gear run:
Max HP: 71.41
Max Torque: 74.02

He said he was very pleased with how the tune went, the numbers looked very good he said. I'm happy, he's happy, so that was great!

BUT! On the downside... I just finished the worse ride of my life. We took a different way back, which was 300 miles, and it was just MISERABLE. I was riding AGAINST 25+ MPH winds, it was raining on and off, and there was a sh!tload of traffic. Everybody and there mothers were coming back from vacation, and it just SUCKED. I sat in traffic several different times for at least an hour and a half total. The wind was so bad, my bike was getting blown around all over the road. I felt like I was hanging on for dear life. My arms, shoulders and neck are killing me. Little did I know, we had a tornado watch, so you can only imagine what kind of ride that was.

But all in all, it was worth it. My gas mileage is much better as well, thank God. Anyway, just wanted to let ya guys know.

Hey, that's where I live! The dyno helped even though you have a PCIII?

You sound a little confused. The pcIII allows the bike to be tuned, among eliminating the o2 sensors and the ability to handle different maps for different setups. The pcIII with the canned maps is mediocre at best. It's what you do with the base map.

My local dealer recently had a sale on dyno time. They were doing 3 runs for $40. If I didn't have to work that day I would have gone.

Yeah I heard Doc's the man to see for a tune. He trained Dave at JD's up north in eastern PA and I plan on going there when I get some different pipes.

How long did it take Adrian?

I've got Thundermax...and it was my understanding I didn't need to dyno it. I might here in a few days when my gear reduction and cams are installed just to see what all the mods have given me.

You got 5-7% gains off of the dyno...not too shabby.

It took him about 4 hours to get it done. He did an advanced map. Tuned each cylinder seperately, the way a tune should be.

Adrian, would that be Doc Weaver that I told you about in Clermont?

What did 4 hours on the dyno cost you?

By the way, I was in Clermont all weekend... sans bike.

Dude, you have an "AUTO TUNE" device. Therefore, no Dyno tune is needed. Hence the name Auto Tune. A PCIII is not a auto tune device. You can get them with a "canned" map, that for most intensive purposes will work fine. If...you have the money, a custom made fuel map can be specifically made to an individual bike. This is what Adrian did.
