Just put the Street Slammers on the Superglide and want to fish the wiring harness through the bars. After studying it for some time I'm not sure where to start. The diagram shows fishing from the top to the bottom. The harness feeds into the frame, no where to disconnect from the looks of it. The top side appears to be permanently connected to the switches as well.
So how's it done? Worst case scenario is to pull it to the stealer with a failed look on my face, and I want to avoid that at ALL costs.
The new bars look f*#%ing bad *** too, I'll post pics once it's all finished.
On the frame under the fuel tank and above the front rocker cover there is a plastic cover that covers a opening in the frame where the wires are hidden. You can pull the wires out there and get to the quick disconnects for the controls. You can elevate the front of the tank to make this easier. I unbolt the tank (front and back) unhook the quick release fuel line from the fuel pump (like an air tool) and slide the tank back a couple inches. The fuel transfer line in the front stays connected.
Once you get to the wiring quick release you can take it apart and push out each individual plug (make sure you draw a diagram of where the wires go) If you dont want to mess with the quick connect plugs you can always cut and solder.
