One thing.. Just looking at deutsch and molex (not sure which you're running there I think deutsch).. be very aware to avoid if possible having to recrimp new ends.. if you have to recrimp a new end on the wire.. I was surfing JP cycles and their crimp tools are like $200 to $400+. yyeeeeeaaaooow! dang that's expensive.
I am not. I have a 6 pin Molex connector that I need to figure how to either get the wires out of, or cut it off and then splice them after fishing.
If it's the exact same as that pic in that thread, he used a pick tool to pry done (gently) the tabs, in order to free the wire from the plug. disclaimer, if one of you other guys that have actually done this can chime in.. I'm flying by wire as I haven't messed specifically with that kind of plug but looks easier than the taillight connectors for sure.. large enough to work with.

I see, so each wire is freed individually from the connector then? I'll probably need to look at it with fresher eyes tomorrow. A buddy and I worked on it for a few hours this afternoon and it stumped him and I both.
If a splice is done right.. you should be fine. There's an art to it.
Pretty confident. Im good at sh*t like that. By cutting and splicing were I did, I was able to conceal and protect all the splices inside the bars. If u extend the wires from the connector thats inside the frame,( like the kit from JP does) the slices wind up outside the frame.
I think a solder joint done right, is as close to a perfect connection as u can get. Would have been nice to have all the color coded wires though.

Yes, one at a time. The HD manual has a section on working with these. Do u have one? If not, do a search on this forum. I do belive there is a thread on it Good luck and just take your time.
