Clutch adjustment???
I may have made a rookie mistake!! I purchased the Boss blades for my 08 SG. I have large diameter skull grips,, and it seems the combination is preventing me from fully disengaging the clutch. I am wondering if I can adjust the clutch to compensate,if so how hard is it going to be, or return to a lever that doesnt come back so close to the grip. Thanks for the help!
OK, say you can catch N no problem. Then we want to go to the cable and run the adjuster all the way so you do not see any threads on the mid adjuster cable.
No, go to the center adjust pin is if this is multi-plate, then there is a center screw with a piggyback nut to hold it in place. You break the nut, run it into the push rod so as not to raise the pressure plate but just kiss the push rod with the adjust pin screw. Now, back it off 1/4 turn, tighten the piggy nut; go to the cable and take out any stack at the mid adjuster on the cable.
Find almost zero gap at the lever an perch. Then try pulling in the lever and see if you found N any cleaner?
Once you have that flat, you then do the screw adjust. But being you say it is hard before the mod is the new lever will not help, maybe. If you get the pressure plate flat, you can find N without pulling the lever in and touch the grip or your accessory, (that is in the way of a normal pull the lever in).
