Thanks

Steve -
Good job on setting this up.
Any idea how long the group buy will last?
Thanks.

I have a TrueTrack kit on my 1990 Glide and another on my wife's 2003 Dyna. The purpose of these kits is to sort out an inherent problem in the Harley's rubber mount system.

On a Buell there are three stabilizer links, one at the heads, another at the front of the motor and another at the rear by the gearbox. They help make a Buell one of the finest handling bikes, by allowing the engine to vibrate vertically, but stopping it move sideways when cornering.

On a dresser there are only two stabilizers, one at the heads and another at the front of the motor. There are many firms, of whom TrueTrack is just one, who make kits to install the 'missing' third stabilizer. That removes sideways movement at the gearbox/swingarm end of things.

On a Dyna there is only one stabilizer, at the heads. Harley depends on a different design of rubber mount at front and back to provide good enough handling. Their system is not very good! The True Track kit provides the hardware for new front and rear stabilizers.

My TrueTrack kits have transformed both bikes. The Dyna is as close to a Buell you are likely to get a Harley! The handling and tracking, especially on the back roads, is a great improvement. The handling is much tighter and gives greater confidence to ride hard. It is brilliant!

The same comments apply to my dresser. Swinging through tight bends is a real joy and any 'rear steer' is a thing of the past.

I also own a Firebolt. So we have three bikes all with three stabiliers - it is the only way to go! The picture posted earlier in this thread is not for a Dyna, but a dresser.

This is a front Dyna mount:

and the rear:

It has to be admitted I had a devil of a job fitting that rear mount and cursed it a few times, but the finished results are worthwhile!

That 'T' shaped piece is half an inch thick, bolted in front of the front engine mounting bracket. The top of it stands roughly two inches above the top of the frame bracket, parallel to the front frame tubes.

Hope that helps!

Well all I can say is great job setting this up. I bought mine a few months ago and paid the $400 for it...but would do it again. They had it to me in two days (coast to coast) So $60 off is huge. Just remember you might have to tweak the rear brake sensor coming out of the master cylinder but, be gentle it'll move out of the way.....just dont force it. Oh yeah, the hole in the middle of the rear engine bracket is for the vent tube to go through. You'll know what im talking about when you get them....just saving you a little of the frustration I experienced. Button head screws are for the front mount too. Im only writing this because the product was great...the instructions, not so much.
