I have another handlbar thread I started a couple weeks ago. The 06 superglide bars have a bit of the old buckhorn bend in them. I don't care for them either. I tried TWO sets of bars to approximate the seating position of the 05 Superglide (which I like a lot). 56055-01 and 56085-83T. Both put the bars a long way away from the stock bars which I went back to. I think either bend with 2" more pullback would be great, but just gave up after two bar swaps and hours of web searching. I'm 5'8" - my 6'2" neighbor had no problem at all with either replacement set.
The issue is that the 06 triple trees are different that the 05 to accomodate the bigger forks. The handlebars are further forward on the 06 vs the 05. Swapping out previous years bars does not help, the seat/peg/triple tree relationship is different.
After a half dozen handlebar changing hours, and a half dozen web surfing hours, I'm giving up for now and went to the stock bars again.
The drag style bars with built in risers MIGHT work, the Harley risers with either set of bars I bought MIGHT work - and the cables MIGHT be long enough.
I'm probably waiting for an 07 Superglide that MIGHT duplicate the ideal (for me) riding position and bar bens of the 05 model. I'll buy &go with braided lines then.
