Well, try to be patient with me. This is my first Harley and first post!
I'm looking to replace the bars on my 06 Super. I'm liking the Street Slammer with built in risers (56391-04). But, I can't find it for my bike. I guess it doesn't have to be that exact model, but I want the swept back/one piece look!
The other thing that's killing me is the Outer Primary Cover. Can you buy that thing in chrome without having to buy that high dollar kit (16327-06)? Can't find it by itself!
I'm curious as to why you can't find them for your bike. Is it because the 06 is too new and the bars are not listed or because of problems with the speedo mounting?
Almost any set of bars will fit the new Dynas. The diistance between the risers has not changed over the last few years; maybe even decades. The problem is the speedometer. Because the gauge mount is integral to the bar clamp, you have to find something new. Check catalogs like J&P, and you can find gauge mounts to fit the style of bar you have in mind. I put mini-apes on mine, so I didn't have to change the gauge mount. You could also dump the factory gauge for something like a Dakota Digital.
What you want for the outer primary is the stock piece off of a Wide Glide. But that only works with Foreward controls.
You won't find that listed in the accessories catalog. Go to the dealer and check the replacement parts catalog. On line sellers like Zanotti's will probably give you a better price than your local dealer.
If you just want to have the same stock appearance but chromed, take yours off and have it chromed.
The individual Chrome Primary Cover is available. I found it on page 584 of the Harley Catalog.
Part 34469-06 ($123.00).
OK, I found the part thanks to sprintrps. BUT, it looks like the part number you listed is the trans top cover for $123. The outer primary is $299! Yikes!
Now....if I put this part on......and later decide to add forward controls.....is there going to be a problem?

No, not a problem. The parts kit from the dealer includes a plug for the shifter hole. You'll have to follow the same directions as you would with a stock cover. Do a search on foreward controls, there was a long dfiscussion about it earlier.
