Wrapping pipes help
Thinkin about wraping my stock exhaust on my 2011 Lo. Anybody used the Lava wrap? Do I need to wet it? How much do I need and do I want 1 or 2 inch? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
Don't wrap from the head pipe down. If you do the leading edge of the wrap is facing into the wind. Wrap from the tail pipe up. Also don't soak the wrap. Water under the wrap is what eventually rots your pipes, so why introduce it right off the bat? You can get it just as tight without soaking it. Don't buy the expensive exhaust wrap paint. High temperature barbecue grill paint from the local hardware store works just as good. For clamps just use hose clamps painted the wrap color.

Sorry to drag up this old thread but...
Thinking of wrapping my stock headers... how do you get around the flapper valve thingy? I'm guessing wrap around it. I've got it fixed to open and bypassed via the race tuner.
Running air cleaner, Race Tuner and V&H 3" slash slipons... any guidance would be appreciated!!
