Be sure to remove the lower bearing from the triple tree and your sealed bearings from your hubs! You'll probably have to replace the tree bearing and dust plate but the cost is minimal. The hub bearings must be pressed out with a special tool. If you don't have one find a shop that can do it since you'll ruin the hubs trying to pry them out.

Good luck with your project!
Thanks for that! will the hub bearings be reusable or should I replace them? only done about 4000 miles on them
as long as you take them out strait and put them in strait you are fine... check for flat spots on them... i re used all but 1 of mine when i did my wheels... do not forget to do your show cap on your front wheel as well , you will see what i mean when you start to pull them apart
You can use uour bearings over if you're careful when you remove them. I removed the ones in my 21" raodwinder that I machined down to fit my bob. The bearings came out fine and went back in fine.

Whoa, did you remove the rear shocks and put a solid bar in place?

Ouch!!! Hey looks great. What did you have to do to get the 21" roadwinder to fit? I was told by the dealer it wouldnt fit. So I had to put the 19" on. which has a totally differant look. I would have gone with 21" if I had the choice.
Yes I wanted to lower it as much as possible. I have a set of EMS shocks for it that are 10.75 " The struts are 10". I just ordered some 10" shocks for it and I will post pics as soon as I install them. I have lowered it 1.5" front and rear then changed the front wheel from a 19" to a 21 ". It rides so much better now it's like having a totaly different bike!.
I bought the set of roadwinders I have off craigslist for $500.00 + shipping. They came off a 2007 SE Dyna with 200 miles on them. The rear went right on . I just had to pull the primary and change the belt so I could use the matchimg pully. The front hub was too wide so I had to take .500" off both sides and move the bearing races in the same amount. I had it done where I work so the total cost for machining was $27.00 for a bottle of whisky! It was well worth the hassel as you can't buy a 21" roadwinder for a Dyna. No problem with the front fender either. It fits nice and close to take the "dirt bike" look away.
