I've always wondered what "long distance/steady RPM" is by definition. I want to get to the 1000 mile service as quickly as possible (within 2 weeks) because I've got a longgggg drive from MI to NC.
Is there a general rule of thumb for highway miles during break in?
So in a nut shell, what would be the best way to help with the 2.79 ratio? Change the rear sprocket to a 70 tooth or the front to a 30 tooth? Maybe both that would give you a 3.15 (06 Dyna) and you could use your stock belt right?
That may be about right, I guess, if 70 is 2500 rpm in 6th. But based on your numbers, that would make 60 around 2500 rpm in 5th. Is that what you saw?
I've always wondered what "long distance/steady RPM" is by definition. They don't want you to break them in on the highway. They want acceleration adn decelleration, like riding around town. My brother always said break them in like you are going to ride them. I think breakin is overrated. The rings probably break in in the first 100 miles and the bearing probably 300 miles.

Ya I went back out to make sure I wasnt crazy lol
It runs about 2500 at 70 in 6th gear.
Here is a pic of 70 in 5th. Looks like closer to 2900
