removing tank emblems

So say one was to accidentally trim off excess goo with an exacto and cut the clear coat? Just hypothetical of course.

I layed the bike down doing about 30mph... wipped the emblem right off the side of the tank. The dental floss and heatgun trick sounds easier though

two options come to mind: 1) get out the buffer and polish and hit it a few times. 2) Tape off the area, spay some clear coat and then hit it with the buffer and polish.
