can you go into further detail of why would do those upgrades before doing a 103 kit? ive heard something similar to this but i dont fully understand why. im guessing for a better reliability??

You'll get hp & torque gains by just changin cams. The big bore is deffinately worth it, I just think it would be a shame to do the big bore & not do the heads at the same time. The cams will make you completely happy until you do the rest in one shot. Ask Last Saint what he thinks about his performance, he's runnin the tw6-6 cams without any other motor work.

Engine work, hands down. Nice to have the extra steam available from the engine room .... I can always go as slow as I want.

I have done a few mods on the bike already, but now I find myself out on the highway a lot and it seems to get to 70/75 easy, but then it feels like I am pushing it a bit to get over that, maybe it is just me. Around here if you go 25 over the speed limit you are still not the fastest thing on the freeway. Heck even the cops run 15 - 20 over the speed limit. Just feeling like I could use a bit more umph. I have simply talked to a few folks who said they don't really go over 70 so they don't really notice anything with their upgrade and then I have head others say yeah go for it.... the reason for my question. thanks for all the replies and advice.
Some have suggested just getting the big bore kit won't really do anything without additional upgrades to the cam, heads, etc. am I getting that right?

Just the sound alone is worth it. Great post on the Timkin bearing. The gains just on my build was the best mod on the bike. It is enjoyable to ride and has the punch when needed.

If you're gonna do it, check out "Trev Deely H-D". They're in Vancouver, BC. Navigate their site to PRODUCTS, PARTS/ACCESSORIES, PARTS DEPT SPECIALS. I bought a $200 S-E Fork Brace, N-I-B for $15.74...fast delivery. I saw that they had a bunch of BB kits, but didn't look at fitment details.

I had the 103" stage II on mine since it was new. With 255 cam's. Great combo for power & torque. I had a oil pump failure. Which in turn took out the bottom end of the motor. Still under waranty. HD replaced the motor with a 103" stage II again. I had the heads polished and ported with compression release. I had a Feuling cam plate with lifter's, oil pump installed. Along with S&S 655 gear driven cam's. Now at 70mph you can hear the motor sucking air thru the intake. Lotsa torque thru the powerband. Can't wait to dyno it after 1500 miles.

This looks good. I like getting everything in one package. Is this much better than the SE kit? Sorry about the naive question but I understand little about engines/engine mods. I would like more HP and torque especially in low-medium RPMS but without compromising reliability or shooting consumption to the stars. Also, how much would it cost to install a kit like that?

I would look into talking with some performance shops in your are(if you have any worth a damn). I would let them map out a plan to get you the power you want, where you need it throughout the RPM range... many people do performance mods and do them in ways that don't compliment each other. They end up wasting lots of money.
I have one of the best performance shops in the country just down the road from me, the owner Wes says a big chunk of their work is redoing what other shops screw up.

Great find... thanks for posting. The shop (Revolution Performance) that posted that video is less than an hour away from me.
