Default Triple Tree Conversions

Has anyone converted their Dyna's 39mm's to Mid or Wide Glide triple trees (using the same forks)? I've seen kits and thought a Mid Glide kit might look good on my 05 Low Rider. I think the 39mm's may look a little to small for the Wide Glide version.

The kits I've seen come with the triple trees, axle, ball bearings, axle and fender spacers, etc. I'm very limited in my knowledge on the subject, but it looks like everything needed.

So, anyone done it and how big of a deal is it to do? Good, bad. And oh yeah ..... PICUTRES if you have them!

Thanks!

I installed the Milwaukee Twins Fat Plate Rev"O"lution wide glide conversion kit part #702-098 (JP Cycles) on my super glide a couple months ago. Best thing I ever did to the bike. I blocked up the frame and had the front end off in less than an hour. When the kit arrived I had it installed in two because I had to pick up a lower neck bearing from the local Harley dealership. Sorry about the poor picture quality.

I was at the last motorcycle swapmeet in Longbeach CA last month and saw a 2004 Superglide with a Roadking type front end on it with a 16" wheel and tire, really looked kinda strange to me. I just wonder how it rode. Next time I go to a swapmeet I will bring my camera. A little off subject sorry bout that.

I'm with you on this. One of the many thing swirling around in my mind lately. Wish I could turn it off []

I've seen some conversion kits for $450. Considering what we pay for some other mods, it seems that dollar for dollar, the conversion could provide a lot of "bang for the buck" when it comes to changing the look of the bike. I don't know if any other costs are involved though.

I definately have a learning curve here, but it looks like it would be just a lot of wrench turning. Can anyone chime in on how complicated a task it might be?

And again, PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES, please....
