I am looking for a new seat for my '02 FXDX. I currently have a Corbin Gamber seat. It has great lines and is comfortable for me. However, I'm tired of my girl chewing my ear off about how much her tail hurts. That would be fine if I was looking to discourage her from joining me on longer rides, but the truth is I want her on those rides and I want her to feel as comfortable as possible.
I tried buying one of those cheep gel bicycle seats at Target and modifying it to fit on my pillion for her. I even tried different types of foam camping mattress material. However, all those are "band-aids" and frankly they don't work all that well and look like crap.
It's time for me to step up and get a seat that will work for both of us. So, I'm looking for any suggestions on brand, style, etc.
I'm 6'1" tall and 220lbs. My girl is 5'2" tall and 100lbs soaking wet. So I'll need something that won't be too soft for me on my long (500+ mile) rides yet soft enough for her small frame.
Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
I don't know how to add a photo of my bike yet, so suggestions on how to do that would be appreciated as well.
Both of the above posts are great suggestions. I sat on a sundowner...and asside from it looking a little out of place on my WG, it was like a couch. At the same time, I had a mustang on my last bike (which I basically bought for the same reason..the wife hated the stock seat) and both her and I were extremely comfortable. Sundowner or Mustang? Can't go wrong with either.
if you want in my opinion the best motorcycle saddles is the corbin two up touring seat, with option for back rests.pricey.but if you plan on keeping your bike for a long time.then this is the best seat.it is not over bulky looking as the sundowner or the mustang seats,so u keep that sleeck look, without giving up comfort.i had one on my lowrider and was worth every cent i paid for it.but i think thier more comfortable, and they mold to your rear, then the sundowners and the mustang.so thier is my opinion.

Hey Gavin
Take a look at La Pera seats they have great lines and good stitching. My friend has a two up on his 1200 custom.
The seat fits you like a saddle and the two up will suit your lady fine.
good luck.
