I was hearing a chatter come from the 05 FXDI at certain rpms but couldn't find out where it was coming from. I discovered it was a washer on top of a motor mount. The other was a bit loose as well. A wrench to tighen 'em was all it took.
To any one of limited experiences like me.... go over the bike and check for any thing that appears loose that shoudn't be.
And to those of us with a lot of experience from the old days always had a tube of Loc-Tite in the saddle bag to slather on any bolt that vibrated loose before tightening back on. Guess its still good advice.
Yea, my top motor mount came loose at around 3000 miles. Those bolts need to be TORQUED down 28 to 35 foot pounds. Also used some thread lock (loctite). My mechanic has a special adpater for his torque wrench to allow him to reach them without raising the tank. I also had him check all the bolts while he was added.

Mine came loose at 300 miles......holy vibrations Bat-Man
Yep, had the same problem last fall. My rear upper mount bolt came out and my front bolt was loose. Had a severe high spped wobble at 80 mph. Luckly I was able to get it home and found the missing bolt the next day. Now I check them every oil change.
you are talking about the stabilizer bar not the motor mounts.you arent even suposed to touch the stabilizer bar so it says in the manuel its for the motor alignment
