No matter which holiday weekend you chose, someone will have planned something for it.
Is the museum open that weekend?? probably, but I think someone should check.
What about using H-D's ride planner on their website? Maybe pick a good start point outside Chicago for everyone to meet up on Friday night. Ride up Saturday am, see the museum, find a good spot to camp/hotel/motel & party like 1/2 way back. Ride home Sunday.
I'm in PA so could one the IL/WI Bobbers help out here?

(Hey! Although lots of Bobs on a run is cool, let's not limit it to just Bobs or even just H-Ds. If you are cool and ride, I see not reason they can't join up with us)

Surprisingly It's only 686 from my front door to the center of chicago, definitely a full days ride.
Here is how I see it going down, us east coasters leave friday morning picking up others as we run towards chicago. On saturday we meet up and ride from chicago to Milwaukee.
Not sure if people want to crash in Milwaukee (party at grinds?) or head back to chicago for the night.
If we wind up staying in Milwaukee sat then we can either make the full distance or wait another night in chicago and ride back to the east coast dispersing as we go on monday.

agreed should be open to whoever wants to go... as stated if anyone wants to ride in fri night I am in Elgin IL... would be more than willing to have ya'll crash by me, we can do any weekend i dont care... just like Memorial day cause it would open the door for more people to come in town... there are alot of cool camp sites out by the museum area, as well as some wicked roads out that way to cruise...
