Wife just said, "We have a big [yard], bring tents." Just mind the neighbors. (I'd better check city ordinances about yard camping.) Else, I could look for a campground nearby. There are also a few motels within a few miles from us, if your not the "rough it" type.
Maybe spend a couple-few hours at the you-see-um Saturday, late morn-early afternoon, then head to my house for brat dinner/party?
Helluva offer, Grind! I do appreciate the hospitality!
If you could post those few motels, especially the close one, that would be great.
There are a dozen 2, 3, and 4 star hotels, 4-7 miles from me, ranging from $60-140. They're basically clustered in three spots. It was interesting getting directions from my house to them. Three or four of them are in each cluster and the directions were different for each one.

3.9 miles, about 10 minutes. Easy to get to, as are most of the hotels I posted. The closest one in the link I posted is 3.8 miles, so the first one in the link is second closest, by a hunnerd or so yards.
This what I've got so far for attendees for the Northeast group (destination Milwaukee)

lets try and keep the list accurate, if you want off or on just post so.
Not saying I want off the list, but I can't sign on 100% yet. It's gonna come down to money and right now and I don't have any. So... if it's not raining I'm liking the tent idea.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the tent idea too.

Re: tents
I briefly skimmed through the city ordinances and codes and didn't find anything specifically prohibiting tenting in homeowners' backyards. Tomorrow, I'll stop by the cop shop and ask a few questions.
What about what's mentioned on the forum's homepage for us "southerners?"
Talimena Trail in Arkansas.
I just got back from Milwaukee and visited the museum while I was there. Whatever you do, tour Miller Brewing!!!!
