Default Mustang Tripper Solo Seats

I'm looking for any advise from any '08-'09 Street Bob owners using this seat...any good close up pics from both sides and from the top for looks/fitment, etc. Any results in comfort for 150-250 (or more) mile rides.

I've looked at Rounders pics(at least a dozen times, lol) and I know he's happy with the seat, but I'm curiuos if any new Street Bob riders are using it and if they are happy with the comfort, fit, etc. Is the seat lower than stock, if so, by how much...does it hold you in plce during hard accelleration?, etc.

I love the looks of the Le Pera Silhouette seat, but any rides more than an hour and a half, I have to put the stock '09 seat back on the bike for comfort.

I'm just trying to keep from spending more $$$ and not get the results I'm looking for.

Btw, the Mustang web site pic for this seat sucks....

Thanks in advance for your help.

yes very happy... The cool thing about mustang....If you order the seat direct they give you a free 30 day trial period... don't like it and you can send it back for a full refund. Just don't damage it.

I use the Mustang Vintage solo on my Train~ Made the ride way more comfortable and a lot less pains after a long ride~ Can't go wrong with Mustang...IMHO~

Its not on a Street bob, but here are some pics of the tripper on my Fat Bob. It dropped me down a bit and it's thinner width-wise than a stock seat.

Thanks for the relpies...I'm hopin' there might be someone that specifically has the Tripper solo seat on a '09 Street Bob and had some good pics of it on their ride. It's 11" wide vs the Silhouette seat at 10" wide.

The Silhouette seat is ok for ridin' an hour, maybe an hour and a half at most....it's killin' my a$$. lol

The '09 stock seat is pretty damn comfortable...I went on a small group ride Sunday for about 4 hours (3 hrs actual riding time) and had no pains at all. NO WAY I could have survived that same ride with the Silhouette seat...

I would be interested as well. I am thinking of taking a 3400 mile trip in May, 6 days of riding and want to make sure I have a comfortable seat for that kind of distance. Unfortunately I haven't had any decent weather to gauge how well the stock 09 seat would be on longer rides.

For Rounder and AmmoDan, what kind of distance have you done in one day on the tripper? And was it still comfortable on the longest day or multi-day rides you have used it on?

FWIW, I just got off the phone with a tech rep at Mustang. He informed me the Tripper solo seat was designed for rides of about 200 miles in comfort, and the seat will sit 1/2" higher and closer to the front of the bike than my stock '09 seat....the Vintage seat is designed for all day comfort and will raise me about 3/4" higher than stock.

I appreciate his honesty, I think I'll just keep the stock seat for my 200 mile rides and put the Le Pera back on when I'm just messin' around on the city streets and shorter 35-50 mile rides.

I don't want to be sittin' any higher than the stock seat height. I like the feel of sittin' IN the bike than ON it.

How is your seating position on the Mustang. I have a 34" inseam and remeber you are taller than me. I am worried because I have read the seat moves you forward.

the tripper does not move me forward or up.(it is down and back over my stock seat) I have put about 250 miles on it in a day with zero soreness(could have easily gone longer). I can ride day in and out without noticing I have been riding lots of miles for the week. If your happy ridin the stock seat I would say it is not worth it to buy the tripper.
BTW you can look at the seat and see it is not up or closer than stock.(what's that rep been smokin?) It is up from those leperas though.

LOL...I was about ready to pull the trigger on the Tripper seat before he said it would raise me 1/2" higher in the seat...I've sudied yours in the gallery and it looks kinda' low profile to me.

I found a place sellin' new seats for 189.95 and free shipping, but now I'm hesitant if it's gonna raise the seat height over stock. BTW, he was comparing the difference with the '09 stock Street Bob seat.
