Thank you everyone for your feedback on this project. I thought I would share a couple more pics of the rough prototype which will soon be machined out of either aluminum or stainless for road testing. The mount was designed for Wild1 8" rise drag bars which have 1.25" tubes at a 3.5" spacing (mine are 3.45"). I sure hope this works.
Hi All,
The speedo mount project for my FXD with 8" Wild1's and 2" tank lift is finished and I have to say that it turned out perfect. It has been road tested for the last couple of days and I could not be more pleased. The final design was changed a little from the prototype per input from Loner. The speedo ring and lower bracket is one piece and the mounting bolts are much larger than the prototype.
I would like to thank Loner again for all the time and effort he put into this project.
Additional photos are posted in my gallery.
I almost bunped this thread a couple of days ago .... been waiting to see how this turned out. I do believe you've helped create the perfect solution to the T-Bar problem for SuperGlide owners. That is an excellent looking piece. Should we contact Loner if interested in this part?
Not quick just happened to tune in. I figured you were some ware on the Pacific NW with a screen name of Columbia Whaler. What do you have a "Boson Whaler" boat of something?
Uh ... I thought that was a Bos'n Whaler vice a Boston Whaler
Awesome job ... turned out great. Is that polished stainless then?
