hi guys i somebody wants sell me a pair of shocks harley brand 11" for my dyna superglide 2007, i would like have some advice, if somebody knows how they work, im afraid if they bottomed the frame, me and my girlfriend weight around250 lb thanks
First, make sure they are what you want. Harley doesn't have 11" shocks in their line-up for the Dynas. The Low Rider and Street Bob shocks are about 12", the lower shock kit (54625-06) is about 11.75". If you want lower, Progressive offers 11" and 11.5" shocks starting at $200.00.
I have 11" standard duty Progressives on my 06 FXDI. My wife and I together weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 pounds (this figure is subject to change as her weight fluctuates with her lies). We used to do a lot of two-up riding before she bought herself a Sporty. Rarely did we have issues bottoming out. Extremely bumps were an exception. I personally did not see any difference in the ride quality. Others will disagree with me here and say it suffers with the shorter shock travel.
The biggest problem I ran into lower the rear was tearing up signal wiring. I tried a couple different ways of routing the wiring, but still had problems. When I went to a wide tire, I move the signals to remedy this.
Yes my 883 XL Custom Sportster 2005 had short shocks on when I bought it. Progressive's..Gives a lower look. But have had bottoming out going in driveway from road. So go a different angle in.
