Default Shock fitment

So in a month I am going to trade in my sportster for a low rider. on my sportster i have 11'' 412 progressive shocks. Now ive been looking around for the same for the new bike, and sometimes i come across descriptions saying they will fit sportsters and dynas. I've thought that the shocks may be different sizes and such but the descriptions are throwing me a curve ball and confusing me. So my question is, will my shocks i have now fit the low rider?

should fit if the eyelets are the same size. Bad news... the sportster shocks are made for a lighter bike. They may be too soft for your bike.

I'm pretty sure that they will not work. If you tell me the year of the sportster and the year of the low rider, I can tell you for sure.

Did some research and found that you have an '07 sportster and you want a '09 low rider. Sportster shock part# 412-4062B/C and the low rider part# 412-4037B/C. The sportster shocks aren't made for the extra weight. Sorry brother!

But if he sets the Progs on the stiffest setting? Depends how heavy you are. My weight is around 170 pounds.

I´ll bet my ugly hat that the Sportster 412 11" are stiffer than the stock Dyna shocks.

The weight difference between a Sportster and a Dyna is 70 punds, Devide by 2 (front/rear distribution) 35 pounds. No big deal.

My 412 progs on the Dyna ARE stiff as h*ll. Even on the third softest.

I would definately recommend that you give it a try! Can´t hurt, only takes 20-30 miuntes to change.

I only weigh 125 pounds and i dont normally ride 2 up. I had them on the softest setting on the sportster an had no problems when riding 2 up. From what i am hearing is they will fit disregarding the whole weight issue. but the issue is the weight baring of them correct?
