Does anybody know what baffle sizes are offered by Rush for the Fat Bob? Does each increase in size make a noticeable increase in sound?? How about performance?? Do you just choose baffle size based on how loud you want it to be?? Thanks for input
Jake,
They offer baffles from 1.5" (most quiet) to 2.5" (loudest). With each increment in size the sound gets a bit louder and deeper. Here again, loudness is in the "eye" of the beholder, I chose the 2" for my LR as it was the best combination of the deep rumble I love without getting crazy loud and setting off car alarms (although I did do that once, hee...hee).
Performance wise is a bit of a muddy picture as it depends upon a lot of other things to say there is a difference in power between baffle sizes. The simple answer is no. Yet if you choose to go larger than 2" and are going with an A/C upgrade they generally recommend a Stage 1 download or a tuner of some sort (I'm assuming your running an EFI bike).
Ditto what Low Wider writes. I just put 1.75's on my Fat Bob and love the sound. Seems to make the bike more responsive also, but it may be my imagination. I got them through E-Bay American Classic Motors. $250 including shipping, can't beat the price!
I put Rush 1.75s on my 2008 Fat Bob with about 400 miles on it. The stocks were getting better when you cranked on it but not good enough. I love the sound the Rush slip-ons produce but my understanding is if you change the a/c to more flow you need to re-map. I also put on the xieds just for insurance against running too lean. Got everything from Fuel moto, working good for me. Mike.
