I'm not a big custom or "chopped" person, as I don't have the skill or the patience to risk destroying my beautiful bike. But...
I'd like to see if anyone has any options for the license plate that are cheap do-it-yourself stuff. I'm not into the side mounts, I like the laid down on the fender look.
I'd like to lay it down, as mentioned yesterday, but that new tail light is in the way.
dude... do a search brother, this just went around last week, rockon posted his, i posted mine... all home built, plus there are seveal ideas in the $50 mod thread at the top of the page.
One option would be to have forum member HOGRIDA do you up a laydown fender plate...remove the tail light and install it there. Then integrate the run/stop/turn HD module into your wiring harness, that way your rear sigs are also your brake lights.
Last week I did up a side mount that literally cost me like $10. I used an angle bracket from Home Depot that I cut down to size, spray painted, then mounted on the rear upper belt guard bolt. I know you said you didn't like the side mount idea, but it does give you another option.
