On the fortunate side of things, neighbors are far enough away from the pd that i do not feel guilty warming up my bike in the mornings. i work 2100-0700 so there is potential to **** off the neighbors when i do get home. needless to say, i don't mess with bikes unless they really, and i mean really, screw up right in front of me
WBeem did you ever wonder why some comments draw the attention of LEO's?? Certainly seems like these guys were trying to be decent... obviously after running the plate through the DMV, they knew it belonged on a Harley Davidson.....
I'm sure there are a lot of decent cops. In fact, my best friend & his wife who are joining me for dinner were both local deputies. I do not believe all cops are bad.
That said, I genuinely do not trust any person in law enforcement on sight these days. If I get to know them and I discover they're a good person, that's fine. However, I have seen too many cases of ignorance and attitude in law enforcement in the past few years to believe that a cop has my best interests at heart.
The LEO's in my town never bother me on my bike. The only thing I ever get is "nice bike".
They never bother me on my bike, either. However, their eyes light up when I pull out my Nikon. Photography is not a crime, but someone failed to tell that to cops all over the country.

I hear you wbeem... but as with all professions/ walks of life today, including teachers, doctors, the ministery and even the bikers... there are always a few that ruin it for everyone. The police in my area are very good to work with and actually pleasant to speak to and deal with. Most of them will make it a point to say hi to you, or give you a wave as they pass. Kind of like an "ease your mind, its cool" type of wave. The local biker community treats them with respect and they treat the bikers the same in return for the most part also. Nice community to ride in for sure...
