I saw someone on here just bought a different set of bars and used the risers anyway. Looked good too! Much easier than changing everything...............like I did! Otherwise, yes, just move the indicator down to the console or wire individual LED's in the console.
I started a thread about this... lots of info. Use the search function. I used 8" Drag Specialties pullback risers and bought a 1999-2003 sportster Handlebar clamp which is a standard type clamp with Indicator hole biult in...BUT... HD JUST introduced 6" (I think thats the height) pullback risers SPECIFICALLY FOR the FXDL. Get 'em! and yer good to go. ALL stock cables will work fine.
Anyone with an '07 FXDL try these risers? The part number is 56266-09.
I read in another forum that someone purchased them for his '07 and the holes in the clamps were offset.....?
on my '04 I just moved them to the console and used micro LED's instead = 3rd pic with hazards on and 4th with only L/S turn signal
Can't tell colors from pic too well but upper left is oil, upper right is neutral, and bottom left are directional's - didn't put for hi beam (no need IMO) Best part is you can barely see them when lights off - I recessed them and filled holes with clear silicon so they are perfectly flush

I hear ya - for me I had the famous "eyebrow" with the indicators integrated and I wanted a clean look so thats why I decided to get rid of the cluster all together
